Investigation into robbery leads to charges for pair of Hamilton teens

Two Hamilton teenagers are among four people arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at a financial institution in Richmond Hill last Friday (June 14).

York Regional Police responded to the call of a robbery at 5:15 p.m. in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Yonge Street.

Police allege that the four men travelled in a stolen vehicle to the financial institution and three of them, wearing masks to disguise their identity, entered the business. Two of the men would take out guns and demand cash and upon getting a quantity of money the three men fled the area in the stolen car.

Both York and Toronto police were able to stop the vehicle and take the four occupants into custody. Police allege they recovered two loaded guns and a sum of stolen money, and other items related to the investigation.

Dylan Raposo, 19, of Hamilton is charged with robbery with a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession property obtained by crime and fail to comply probation order.

A male youth, 15, of Hamilton was charged with robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

A male youth, 17, of Welland, was charged with charged with robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession property obtained by crime and fail to comply probation order.

A male youth, 17, of York was charged with robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession property obtained by crime.

All four were scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
